Atelier Bow-Wow: Dog Chair
31 Oct.-18 Nov. 2007
Dog Chair: A chair has four legs. What reminds you more of four legs than a dog? Viewed in this light, they seem rather similar. Both a dog and a chair may have a different character depending on its size and proportion; just as there are different kinds of dogs such as Chihuahuas, Shibas, and German Shepherds, chairs range from baby chairs, to lounge chairs, to thrones. Embracing such a thought, we tried to make this chair have a dog-like presence that is physically affectionate and always makes us feel easy. (Atelier Vow-Wow / Translated by Naomi Matsuura)
'Dog Chair' by Atelier Bow-Wow saw its birth in the exhibition 'Tokyo House x Tokyo Life' (organized by Commdesign Inc.) at Design Tide in Tokyo 2005. At this exhibition we show six varied types of Dog Chair which were newly realized with the productional supports by graf. Six Dog Chairs with a pleasant smile on their face will be waiting for your visit during the show.
